Magdeburg Silo — precast balconies and columns
A former grain silo in Magdeburg being converted into a residential building. The nine-storey brick shell has been retained, while the internal structural layout and the entrance zone were built anew.
Our scope covered precast balcony slabs and structural columns. We delivered the balconies with ready-fitted connectors and anchors for installation against the existing wall — with no wet connections carried out at height.

Scope of work
Installation took place in September 2024, in parallel with work on the facade. The elements arrived on site in installation order, straight from the trailer onto the crane hook — on a tight site in an urban setting, the only workable option.
Precast balconies in the conversion of a heritage building shorten the time spent working from scaffolding and limit the load imposed on the existing structure — the slab arrives at its final dimensions, with the fall designed in and the surface finished.
Scope of work: precast balcony slabs, structural columns, international transport and installation on site.
