Formee makes precast concrete in Międzyrzecz in western Poland, 100 km from the German border and about 200 km from Berlin. The factory production control certificates 0761-CPR-1152 and 0761-CPR-1149 were issued by IBMB MPA TU Braunschweig, and the environmental declarations are in the ITB register. To Bernau near Berlin we delivered 2,005 elements on 391 truckloads; erection there was carried out by an erection subcontractor following our delivery sequence. Delivery radius: about 1,000 km, covering Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Czechia and Slovakia.

Logistics

Truck, permit, sequence

Between 20 and 50 trucks leave the plant every day, usually carrying 22–24 t of elements. Walls travel upright on A-frames, slabs and balconies flat; one truck carries 45–100 m² of wall depending on wall type and weight. Cross-border abnormal loads are planned with permits and travel windows, so the delivery sequence is fixed weeks before erection.

Elements are loaded in erection order and lifted straight from the trailer to the hook, with no site storage. In Bernau, next to listed buildings with a single crane position, we agreed the delivery schedule day by day with site management.

FAQ

Questions from clients and designers abroad

The most frequent questions from enquiries from Germany.

Can Polish precast be used in Germany without additional approval?
Yes, for harmonised products: wall elements to EN 14992, beams and columns to EN 13225 and filigree slabs to EN 13747 carry CE marking with a declaration of performance. Factory production control was certified by IBMB MPA TU Braunschweig (0761-CPR-1152 and 0761-CPR-1149). Structural design follows the Eurocodes with the German national annex.
What does transport to Germany cost?
Transport is a line in the quote, not a knock-out criterion: Berlin is about 200 km from the plant, Dresden 250 km, Hamburg 450 km. What matters is the number of trucks, which follows from m² and weight, plus abnormal-load permits. One truck carries 45–100 m² of wall depending on type.
Does Formee also erect in Germany?
Yes, with our own crews or with an erection partner. In Bernau near Berlin an erection subcontractor placed the elements following our delivery sequence and crane plan. Alternatively we deliver with erection instructions and element plans to the local shell contractor.
How long from order to first delivery?
The quote is ready about a week after complete documents. Production starts once shop drawings are approved; the first elements leave the plant before the last one is cast, because production and erection run in parallel. For an apartment building production typically takes 14 weeks.
Which language is used for coordination?
Enquiries, quotes and shop drawings are handled in German and English; drawings are issued as PDF, DWG and IFC from Tekla Structures.
